We’re proud to announce that we made our first donation to GreenWave, equivalent to 1% of sales in our most recent fiscal year!

This milestone satisfies our annual requirement as a member of the 1% for the Planet network, but more importantly, it represents our commitment to doing good.

We recognize that, as an apparel company, we’re contributing to environmental degradation. We aspire to limit our impact as we evolve, working with more sustainable materials and implementing cleaner and more efficient processes, but that’s a long journey, and in the interim, we can immediately reduce our impact by giving back to organizations like GreenWave.

As a refresher, GreenWave’s mission is to train and support ocean farmers in the era of climate change, working with coastal communities around the world to create a blue economy that’s built and led by farmers. This includes coastal communities such as our own, with GreenWave alums like Stonington Kelp Co., operating in our backyard. Additionally, we know that each year about a quarter of the carbon dioxide emitted by industries, such as apparel, is absorbed by natural ecosystems. Through GreenWave’s work and their farmer alumni, the natural ecosystems on our coasts will be better protected and strengthened and thus better able to absorb emissions.

We are proud to support GreenWave and look forward to increasing our annual contributions while implementing better business practices that mitigate our environmental impacts.
