Here are three outdoor dining experiences in Mystic that are not to be missed:

1. Anthony J’s

Nestled within a cozy space on Holmes Street, Anthony J’s, also known as “AJ’s,” is a truly intimate Italian dining experience. With signature dishes such as bolognese, carbonara, and a number of seafood dishes, AJ’s is the perfect date night spot. Ask for a table on the patio situated on the right side of the restaurant—your candlelit meal beneath lush greenery is sure to give summertime-in-Italy vibes.

2. Mix at Sift

Looking for a meal outside with some shade from the sun? Make a reservation at Mix Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, the latest offering from award-winning pastry chef Adam Young and his talented team, ATY Hospitality. Situated above Young’s iconic Sift Bakery, Mix offers delectable meals from new executive chef Olivia Morey—such as a lemon blueberry french toast for brunch and a coriander crusted tuna for dinner—under a pavilion-style outdoor dining space with panoramic views of the Mystic River.

Because we want you to have a spectacular day from start to finish, here’s an idea: make your reservation for 6pm but come downtown around 4pm. Stop by Just Mystic to grab your outfit for the 4th of July, and after dinner, visit one of these ice cream shops for homemade deliciousness. You’re welcome!
